Bonfire, Movie Night Fun

FireOn a Friday the 13th in March of the year 2015 Sage Ridge hosted a bonfire and scary movie night. The night began at 6 and ended at 9:30. When I arrived, everyone was playing either basketball or volleyball and just having a good time. Then, a group of us went out to the soccer field and played a game of world cuppies. We found an old, worn out soccer ball and played with it for a while until Mr. Manning was kind enough to come and open the sports shed and get us a real soccer ball. We continued our game until everyone else walked out to the field to tell us that the hot dogs were ready. They caused quite the interference to our game and Jaedyn cost me the winning goal, but it was a lot of fun to be out on the field at dusk with everyone and see the lights of downtown turning on. We then went back and sat around the fire eating hot dogs and roasting marshmallows. Some people attempted to start a campfire song, but it did not really work out, so instead, we tried to put a “fiesta of colors” into the fire, but we did not put it far enough into the fire and only a small portion turned blue. After sitting around the fire for about an hour, we were all smoky and ready to watch the movie.

In honor of it being Friday the 13th, student government chose to play the classic Friday the 13th movie. Now, this was the version from the 1980s and I do not like old movies as much as the newer ones, but it was good to see a classic. And, if I am being completely honest, I did not stay and watch the movie, but I did watch it when I got home, and I would say it was decent, if not, somewhat inappropriate in a certain scene. Overall, I think that this was a great event, and there should be another one at least before I graduate.
